THE RICH MAN AND LAZARUS

The story of the rich man and lazarus is still much applicable in today’s world; this present generation ,men have become lovers of themselves, their heart is smeared, some can even kill their own flesh and blood, for evil fortification, for wealth, promotion, etc, they can go to any length to get what they want, they have exchanged eternal life for total condemnation.

We see the story of Lazarus and the richman in Luke 16, the richman thought he had everything to himself and he couldnt care less, even while lazarus came to him soliciting for help, until death came knocking.

19 “There was a rich man who was dressed in purple and fine linen and lived in luxury every day. 20 At his gate was laid a beggar named Lazarus, covered with sores 21 and longing to eat what fell from the rich man’s table. Even the dogs came and licked his sores.

22 “The time came when the beggar died and the angels carried him to Abraham’s side. The rich man also died and was buried. 23 In Hades, where he was in torment, he looked up and saw Abraham far away, with Lazarus by his side. 24 So he called to him, ‘Father Abraham, have pity on me and send Lazarus to dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue, because I am in agony in this fire.’

From verses 27-28 the ricnman was begging Abraham to send lazarus to his father’s house, his neighbors, to friends to warn them of the danger that lies ahead, when one is living in sin, when you are living carelessly, when you are been carried away by the frivolities of life, and forgotten there is a day for judgement.

The servants of the Lord are every where preaching the mesage of salvation, repentance and deliverance, but attention is not paid to this servants of God.

29 “Abraham replied, ‘They have Moses and the Prophets; let them listen to them.’

30 “‘No, father Abraham,’ he said, ‘but if someone from the dead goes to them, they will repent.’31 “He said to him, ‘If they do not listen to Moses and the Prophets, they will not be convinced even if someone rises from the dead.’”

Today, may it not be too late for us as it where for the richman, amend your ways, the life He gave you will be accounted for, God the father didnt send the son to die for us in vain, one day we will give account of ourselves,

Always remember this, Jesus is coming back soon,

Praise the Lord.
